The Queensland Working Women's Service Inc (QWWS) provides a free confidential and supportive telephone advisory service for women about work-related issues such as: pay and conditions, unfair dismissal, discrimination, sexual harassment and workplace bullying.
Access to our service is via our freecall 1800 621 458 number where you can talk with our staff about your workplace situation. We target our services to vulnerable working women and give particular attention to:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women
- Women from non- English speaking culturally diverse backgrounds
- Women who have a disability
- Women in regional, rural and remote areas
- Women with family responsibilities
- Women of mature age
- Young women
- Women in low paid jobs
- Women entering the workforce
- Women on 457 visas

REPEAL OF OUTWORKERS CODE IN QLD
Migrant women outworkers in the clothing industry in Queensland are about to become more vulnerable.
The Newman Government in Queensland has announced it is repealing the Queensland Outworkers Code of Practice, which allows transparency and monitoring of clothing supply chains in Queensland, facilitating assistance for migrant women outworkers in these supply chains.
