The Queensland Working Women's Service Inc (QWWS) is a free, confidential and supportive service for women about work-related matters. Assistance is provided via a freecall telephone advisory service delivering practical advice in relation to workplace rights, options and courses of action available.

QWWS aims to make our organisation accessible to Queensland women across the state, including women from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, migrant women and women from diverse cultural or language backgrounds.

QWWS targets our services to assist women who may not have other support or union membership. We also offer community education on topics such as Workplace Harassment, Basic Rights at Work and the Fair Work Act.

The service is funded by the Queensland and Federal Governments and is also supported through membership and donations.  Click here to download a membership or donation form.

Our telephone advisory lines are open at the following times:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 9am - 4pm.

The advisory service is closed on Tuesday and Thursdays.

QWWS supports Sexual Harassment in Australia Research

A national project addressing workplace sexual harassment is being undertaken by Paula McDonald from the Queensland University of Technology and Sara Charlesworth from the University of South Australia.  The researchers are interested in conducting confidential phone interviews with people who have experienced workplace sexual harassment.  The aim of this phase of the project is to understand the impacts of sexual harassment on those who have experienced it and to contribute to more effective policy development and implementation in workplaces and by human rights organisations.
